Ginger Beer to Acupuncturist

In 20's I was passionate about health food, cooperatives and music. I worked as a customer service representative for a health food distributor for the Midwest of the USA. You wouldn't know most of the states we worked with if your'e from abroad. I was asked to do a demonstration with an ice cold keg of Reeds ginger brew at a large coop in Minnetonka, which i couldn't down down because I loved the stuff. I set up my stand and started to hand out samples. I saw a Chinese woman sitting at a small table with some cushions and walked over to give her a sample. She asked if I wanted to have my pulse and tongue checked because she practised Chinese Medicine. No one was at hr booth so I tried her mini diagnosis. I was so interested in what she told me, probably too busy going out to First Avenue every night I could to hear bands and dance. I was burning the candle at both ends and didn't really know it. I remember walking out of Dr Ren's clinic in Minneapolis on a cool day in September 1992 after my first treatment and felt like I was floating and the stresses of the world had disappeared. I couldn't believe both my body and mind felt so free. I was smiling from the inside out. I was hooked, I knew acupuncture was my path. I had a swig of the emerald green bottle of Reeds ginger brew last summer in Minnesota and it was far too sweet for me after living away from the US for the past 20 years.
